    Responsibilities

    • Act as a business partner to Banff Jasper Collection (BJC) General Managers by directing the development of strategic business plans to generate engaging specialty product and seasonal programming; delivering revenue growth and elevated guest experience
    • Lead and mentor programming and interpretive team leaders, embedded within each business, to ensure excellence of planning and tactical delivery to guests
    • Direct and uphold BJC standard processes for programming planning and delivery to ensure collaborative and creative development of new experiences and timely delivery to market
    • Shape the training and professional development of programming and interpretive team leaders including creation of a proactive succession plans
    • With the support of the BJC Interpretive Programs Coordinator, lead the delivery of a brand-aligned, best-in-class and consistent Interpretive Guides Program across all businesses
    • Support the integration of brand-aligned interpretive story telling infrastructure within businesses that increase guest engagement and value proposition
    • Keep up to date of all innovations in the field of events and programming and integrate initiatives and concepts to ensure best-practices continue to drive BJC competitive positioning in the market
    • Champion and lead strategic interpretive initiatives that deliver First Nations story telling
    • Identify and leverage suitable 3rd party event and festival opportunities and provide partnership, supplier and contractor recommendations

    Qualifications

    • 7-10 years of management experience including event planning and guiding
    • Experience building strong relationships across all levels of an organization and within the industry to build strategically aligned business opportunities
    • Strong attention to detail for planning and execution
    • Thrives in a fast paced, high energy work environment across a broad geography
    • Create “followership” through modelling our core values and best practices
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Good organizational skills with attention to timeliness
