    Responsibilities

    • You will be the face of the Glacier Skywalk experience
    • Providing guests with in depth interpretive material, you will be enhancing our guests experience and guiding them throughout the attraction
    • Learn and interpret everything from local wildlife, fauna, geology and every glacier
    • Delivering exceptional interpretive information to guests from around the world
    • Rotating through various interpretive stations and ensuring the safety of guests and staff
    • Performing 10 – 15 minute presentations to large groups
    • Being proactive with maintenance issues and safety concerns
    • Supporting Guest Service Agents with managing tour groups, tour departures and arrivals, loading and unloading coaches
    • Reporting safety issues to the Glacier Skywalk Manager and Supervisor in a timely manner
    • Maintaining cleanliness of the attraction on a daily basis

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

    • Organization and time management skills are a must, but a passion for making a difference for each guest is the most important aspect of this position!
    • Energetic individuals with a passion for the mountains and everything about them!
    • Must get excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environment
    • Able to work both independently and in our team based environment
    • A fantastic sense of humor as well as a friendly, mature, energetic personality
    • Charismatic and comfortable with speaking to large groups
    • Previous interpretive guiding experience an asset
    • Able to stand and work outside in varying mountain weather conditions (snow, rain, wind, hail)
    • Commitment to becoming an interpretive expert and ambassador through the completion of a week-long interpretive training program (provided upon starting employment)
    • Guest service-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering memorable experiences
    • Class 5 driver’s license (with clean abstract) an asset but not required
    • Ability to think on the fly and outside the box to solve problems with a positive attitude
    • Must meet Pursuit grooming and appearance standards
    • To honour our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record check
    • Standard First-Aid or higher an asset

    Work Environment

    • Contract dates;
      • April 3rd to October 21st, 2019
      • May 1st to October 21st, 2019
      • June 1st to September 4th, 2019
    • Typically 5 days on/2 days off
    • 6 days on/1 day off during peak periods
    • Days off may change with each schedule and depend on business level
    • Long weekends may incur schedule changes
    • Expect 35 – 44 hours per week depending on business levels
    • Polo shirts, North Face Pants and indoor jacket will be issued on arrival
    • Outdoor uniform is provided when working outdoors
