    Responsibilities

    • Drive the development of visual merchandising working with the Director of Retail and the inventory team to ensure the best product mix and inventory levels
    • Achieving revenue targets, and managing expenses to desired net operating targets
    • Strategic planner and thinker that is able to execute and implement projects from start to finish
    • Drive execution from concept
    • Manage all aspects of the retail and photo business, while coordinating with senior leadership, and communicating with all necessary operations
    • Develop budgets with senior leadership, forecast expenses, and revenue expectations
    • Hire, train, schedule and onboarding new staff members
    • Develop, revise and update training materials to ensure training is consistently delivered
    • Hold management and staff accountable to all duties and expectations as laid out in the training materials
    • Uphold high level product knowledge, merchandising and display standards
    • Work with the inventory team to ensure stock levels are adequate to achieve sales expectations
    • Provide on the floor leadership and role modelling for staff
    • Ensure that all transactions are handled with accuracy and attention to detail
    • Manage floats and cash
    • Handle and communicate any issues, and customer service complaints to management in a timely fashion

    This position is constantly growing and evolving, as such the job responsibilities may change.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

    • Proven sales leader, able to drive the team to selling all merchandise to achieve and exceed financial goals set out in the financial plan
    • 8 + years of retail management experience
    • Experience in visual merchandising
    • Project management experience
    • Proven sales leader
    • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays
    • Demonstrated ability in management, merchandising, customer service and inventory management
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Hiring and performance management experience
    • Problem solving skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Cash / float management experience
    • Valid Canadian driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
    • Able to communicate fluently in English, secondary language skills are an asset
    • First Aid certified asset
